Strategy Series 14 - Keep Friends As Senators, Keep The Deputy In The Office

...There is a saying. Keep your friend close, keep your enemy closer. In Mahathir and Anwar's dynamic :- Keep Friends As Senators, Keep The Deputy In The Office....

*Slightly uncharacteristic of us to release so many articles in such a short span of time. Yet, as Faizal Azumu's (PEJA) appointment as an advisor to the Prime Minister mind boggles everyone including those such as Hannah Yeoh and Fahmi Fadzil (pretending to be impervious probably or not very politically alert), it is better if attempt to an explanation was made. Off course, his appointment comes as (not) shocking to us (our current interest is still for Muhyiddin to stay and not for him to form a minority administration unless he is made the Prime Minister. - Image 0. Convey to Minister A.).

MINORITY GOVERNMENT

The UMNO-BERSATU inevitable feud had come to a boiling point when the Najib-Zahid affiliation (of 11 MPs + 2 Minister level MPs as it was highlighted in our article as THE SIXTEEN) formally pulled out their support from the PN administration led by Muhyiddin. The definition and argument of what constitutes majority is the decision by the Federal Court, the Attorney General and the Speaker which had been discussed explicitly HERE. By the general looks of it, it seems Muhyiddin will pass his Majority test in the Parliament. There will be no comments on how he will achieve this. Hints of how this could be achieved had been discussed HERE  and HERE (which his side might have other solutions such as one highlighted by Azalina Othman.). Suffice to say, from undisclosed political breakdown and analysis, it seems Muhyiddin may only fear two particular sort of downfall with a particular countermeasure totally untouched by all the media at the moment.

Taking this into account, Faizal Azumu's political statement of minority government might not bode very well with the more ambitious leaders in BERSATU.

To put it frankly, this gentleman who sit next to Najib Razak in the Parliament lower house (Image 1 - including a commentary from a Pro Najib follower on their high hopes for Faizal to assist Muhyiddin to make a political exit gracefully.) is an UMNO mid level political princeling. His father Datuk Azumu had close ties to many in UMNO. Not just that, he is exceptionally friendly to UMNO (which includes the Pro Najib and Zahid camp. Saarani is part of this camp echoing Zahid's statement and decision to initiate for the mass exodus of BN MPs.) . A step closer to Saarani is a step closer to Zahid. As conversations between Najib and Faizal could extend more than a "Hi", it is very likely that this gentleman may be sympathetic towards UMNO or even impervious of the backstabbing scheme. The possible lynchpin to put UMNO and BERSATU back together. Off course with UMNO taking the role as the Big Boss (just like what transpired in Perak.). Annihilating BERSATU in the next run emulating the exact fate of Tengku Razaleigh's Semangat 46. And it seems he doesn't mindWhile Najib-Zahid and Muhyiddin are fighting like cats and dogs, Faizal Azumu was slightly different in his political approach. He even defended the person who ousted him from the top spot.

With all this being said, it is a clear cut explanation behind his appointment as an advisor in Putrajaya.

OUTCOME OF HIS APPOINTMENT

Hopefully his appointment as it was mocked by many in the country will be pivotal in turning the negative sentiment Muhyiddin is currently facing in social media from Facebook to Twitter (observe the list of unpopular strong vitriol https://mobile.twitter.com/malaysiakini/status/1423532928395464708). Or perhaps like it was rumored that he will assist Muhyiddin to exit the political arena gracefully.

With strong negative sentiment among the citizens at the moment due to the extremely high Covid-19 infections rate amplified by their lack of comprehending and providing solutions for the people (base on the people's perception not base on what Wan Saiful and gang think), it will be a long farewell for BERSATU (especially Azmin and gang except for Faizal who might be graciously welcome back to UMNO into Saarani's and Zahid's fold) once Muhyiddin made an exit graciously (hopefully not).

Hopefully the current Prime Minister's confidence in winning the Confidence Vote will be fitting to the tactics and strategies The Financial Debunker had in mind (confidential as agreement was not struck). For a lost will be the most humiliating defeat ever recorded in Malaysian Prime Minister (even worse than Mahathir's blunder of resigning after 22 months.) history. His exit will be jeered much worse. The anticipation is much higher than Najib Razak disgrace political exit of 2018. Let's observe if he and his team (especially team Azmin and PAS) will fight with teeth and claw to protect this administration with the hope to revive back all that is lost (reputation and trust perceived by the people) or submit to the cruel lashings of defeat.
